  • advising teachers on suitable resources;
  • piloting innovative work in the classroom;
  • contributing to Inset courses for practising teachers;
  • advising schools on ways of finding and developing partnerships with schools in developing countries
  • supporting the North-west wales Enabling Effective Support Forum

Exciting New Opportunities to develop ESDGC
The World Education Centre has just received a 3 year grant from the Development Awareness Fund which will open many new opportunities for schools in north-west Wales to develop ESDGC.  Around £40,000 a year will go to supporting schools in this project.   It will enable teachers from the Foundation Phase through to the Welsh Baccalaureate to develop aspects of ESDGC such as thinking skills, whole school planning and international partnerships through working with teachers already experienced in these areas.  Ten teacher mentors will be recruited to support 40 schools each year - supply costs will be covered.  Yearly conferences will be held to share good practice and in the final year a video of good ESDGC practice will be produced.

If you are interested in either being an ESDGC mentor or in developing ESDGC please contact Sheila Bennell (tel. 01248 383728) or Bethan James
